COURSE INTRO

DAY ONE

  • Simple & effective window treatments

  • Equipment for making curtains

  • Get to know your sewing machine

  • Join fabric, lining & interlinings

  • Make a sample lined pencil pleated curtain

DAY TWO

  • Aspects of window treatments to consider when planning the look, headings

  • Poles, tracks, pelmet

  • Measuring windows

  • Fabric choices

  • Linings & Interlinings

  • Calculating the amount of fabric required for a window treatment

  • Make a sample interlined pencil pleated curtain

DAY THREE

  • Practice calculating fabric for example windows

  • Make a curtain sample interlined pencil pleat with border to leading edge

DAY FOUR

  • Finish sample off

  • Questions

  • Piped frilled sample

  • Make a crescent piped tie back
